FS25: Inside the New AI Worker and GPS Systems
In this sneak peek, we’re exploring the enhanced AI worker system and GPS features coming to Farming Simulator 25. This preview shows a major overhaul from previous versions, especially since the last demo seen at PXS, as shared by Kermit from Giant Software. He highlights that, while this is still a work in progress, the features have already advanced significantly. Expect further refinements and additions before the final release.
One major change is the interface: you’ll now see a dedicated AI Worker and Steering Assist menu on the left side of the screen. Activating and switching between AI worker and GPS modes is now much more intuitive. By holding down the button, you can quickly toggle between these modes, giving more control over farming tasks. Once in GPS mode, you can view your implement’s working width, set headland passes, and adjust the working direction. Fine-tuning these settings allows you to control not just where the tractor goes but how it performs tasks, right down to small degree adjustments for more precise operations.
For the AI worker, you can decide whether or not they’ll work the headlands and even choose to skip rows, making this feature ideal for discing or other tasks where space between rows is crucial. In action, the AI worker enters the field, lines up precisely, and completes tasks as directed. If you’re unsure how the field will look once they’re done, the preview gives a clear view of their completed path, ensuring that you know exactly what to expect.
When using Steering Assist, you control acceleration and braking, while the line steering keeps you straight on your designated path. This lets you set cruise control, allowing you to focus on task efficiency without constant steering adjustments. Switching between AI and GPS has been streamlined, and exiting menus is also more intuitive, reducing the chance of accidentally hiring or firing workers.
These improvements give players much greater control over field management, offering a polished and efficient system that has come a long way. The final release promises even more fine-tuning, making these tools indispensable for efficient farm management in Farming Simulator 25.
