Farming Simulator 25: Ground Working Fertilizing

Farming Simulator 25: Essential Ground Working and Fertilizing Tips

Fertilizing is a crucial part of farming. If you’re new to Farming Simulator 25 and unsure how to handle this aspect of the game, we’ve got you covered! Here’s everything you need to know.

How Fertilizing Works in Farming Simulator 25

Fertilizing at least once per crop cycle is essential to maximize your earnings. Typically, you can fertilize each crop twice—once after planting and again after the seeds start sprouting. However, this needs to be managed properly to avoid over-fertilization.

There are some exceptions to this rule. For instance, grass can only be fertilized once. Additionally, you can use manure or slurry with a double application rate. This method allows for complete fertilization in a single application, but it takes twice as long as a normal application.

Variety of Fertilizers in FS25

There are various fertilizers in the game, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. Here’s a breakdown of the different types:

  • By-Product Fertilizers: These are the most cost-effective fertilizers as they come from your animals, including manure, digestate, and slurry. They help you save money on fertilizers. To apply them, you’ll need a manure spreader, a digestate tanker, and a slurry tanker, respectively.
  • Solid and Liquid Fertilizers: These are highly effective store-bought options available from various vendors in the game. You’ll need a spreader for solid fertilizers and a sprayer for liquid fertilizers.
  • Catch Crops: Another method of fertilization is using a catch crop. Plant oilseed radish to achieve one step of the fertilization process, and then plant over it to complete the cycle.
