FS25: Mods & Latest Modding Updates You Need to Know
Gamescom concluded in Germany in late August, and many fans were thrilled to finally get a chance to try the latest game. This event marked the first public demo of the game. So, how did it go?
Well, if you were expecting an unfinished demo to feature all the latest bells and whistles, you may have set yourself up for disappointment.
The demo did highlight some new features, like the updated tire marks. However, they felt a bit generic, with little variation between vehicles aside from tire size. Key elements like the mini-map, map tab, shop, and the revamped GPS system were noticeably absent. That said, some sharp-eyed players noticed a simplified version of the CoursePlay mod in action.
Overall, it was more of a tech demo. The game was showcased in ideal weather and lighting conditions, so players didn’t get to see the much-anticipated fog and weather effects. While the fields certainly looked great, we’ll need to wait for more demos and updates to get a fuller picture of what’s in store.
FS25 Introduces Game-Changing Third-Person View
In news that’s sure to get third-person gaming enthusiasts and content creators buzzing, GIANTS Software has confirmed that Farming Simulator 25 will introduce a third-person view mode!
This feature has long been requested by the community, and it’s finally making its debut! With this addition, we can likely expect major improvements to the in-game character models. Based on leaks, GIANTS seems to be putting extra effort into enhancing NPC expressions, movements, and even adding dialogue options to make them feel more lifelike.
Now, don’t go expecting anything on the level of GTA VI – or even GTA V, for that matter. But if done right, this feature could be a significant upgrade for those who prefer third-person gameplay (like myself!) and for content creators looking to create more immersive roleplay content in Farming Simulator 25.
Millennial Farmer Map Returns: Get Ready for the Revamped Release
Millennial Farms has always been a popular community-created map in Farming Simulator, and with FS25 around the corner, the much-anticipated update is finally here. Mappers Paradise has completed their part of the project, with Celobuki now handling the final touches before release.
In this revamped version, players can explore the farmhouse, various buildings, shops, sell points, and an upgraded silo system. The map, set in Minnesota, even includes snow, adding to the immersive experience. For those familiar with the older versions from FS19 or FS22, there are some key changes: more fields have been added beyond the main farm, and the town is now fully within the map’s boundaries.
While the fields are smaller, offering more variety, some players who enjoyed the vast fields of the previous version may find this update a bit different. Additionally, the once-present ring road has been removed, with roads now ending in the bottom corners.
The Legend of Big Bud Lives On: Classic American Icons Edition
We’ve finally gotten a glimpse of the Big Bud 650s, crafted by Classic American Icons, and it looks nearly complete – with the Industrial Version model being the only thing missing. These impressive machines fit perfectly on the vast American landscapes. Powered by an 18-liter Detroit diesel engine, they’re about as American as a bald eagle flying with an apple pie.
These classic tractors have been rare in the Farming Simulator community. While a few made appearances in the last three FS games, it seems the gates have now been thrown wide open.
Here’s hoping Classic American Icons is gearing up for the FS25 release, so we can get our hands on the entire Big Bud lineup as soon as possible.
Gleaner S9 Harvester by SiiD Modding
SiiD Modding has nearly completed the Gleaner S9 Series, announcing it’s “98% done.” The mod features all-new, updated sounds, and the GPS is expected to function flawlessly. With fresh animations, controls, and sounds, this mod is shaping up to be an outstanding addition all around.
John Deere X9 Harvester by Dince Modding
Dince Modding is making great progress on the John Deere X9, focusing on the American version, which differs slightly from its European counterpart. This version features updated wheels, additional grain tank options, and a few other minor adjustments to fit the American style.
Legacy Premium Cutter Pack by Hispano Modding
After the initial attempt didn’t lead to anything concrete, Hispano Modding has returned with the Legacy Premium Cutter Pack. GIANTS are already testing both the Pack of Balers with Windrow and the Round Balers Pack with Windrower.
The AGCO Baler Pack with Windrower is also in testing, though it appears to be slightly behind the others in the process.
Claas Disco Pack by WOLFex Modding
WOLFex Modding has been putting in the effort to bring us the Claas Disco Pack, and now we have more details. The pack will feature three mower models, each with different cutting widths: 2.4m, 2.8m, and 3.2m. All models come with safety plates that include fully customizable rear lights, and they feature custom sounds as well. While Claas tractors are common, there aren’t many mowers available – but that could change with this pack. The attention to detail in the mod is impressive, and we’re excited to give it a try.
Gondola Trailer Mod by Caleruega Modding
The Gondola Trailer mod is designed specifically for bale transportation, and we recently got a closer look at the latest updates from Caleruega Modding. These trailers are built entirely for hauling bales, with front supports to prevent them from falling and obstructing your truck.
While we’ve seen some details about the mod previously, there’s still no clear progress update or any hint of a potential release date.
72×126 shop Legacy Ag
Farming Simulator isn’t just about vehicles, buildings play a key role too! Legacy Ag has unveiled their latest creation: the massive 72×126 Shop. While a few tweaks, like the lighting, are still needed, the mod appears almost complete.
This shop will be available on all platforms and is a near-perfect recreation of the real modular buildings it’s modeled after. It features a spacious shop area as well as an office section.
