Will FS25 Launch with Built-in Logging Mods?
The upcoming Farming Simulator 25 is set to make logging enthusiasts’ dreams come true. Unlike previous releases, which often required players to wait for high-quality logging mods and equipment, FS25 is bringing a full suite of logging tools and machinery directly into the base game. As of October 25, Giants Software has revealed over 20 major logging brands that will be available from launch, giving players a diverse selection of logging gear without the need for additional DLCs.
Logging Equipment in FS25: What’s Included?
This impressive lineup includes reputable brands and high-end logging tools, many of which were previously only available in FS22’s Platinum Expansion. Now, these are built into the core game, offering a seamless experience for players interested in forestry. Among the most notable brands included are Volvo, Rottne, John Deere, Husqvarna, Koller, Tajfun, and Impex. Here’s a closer look at some of the essential equipment:
- Volvo Machines: FS25 is incorporating an extensive range of Volvo machinery, including the VNX 300 Semi, L120H and L20H Wheel Loaders (both regular and electric models), and the EC250DL and EC380DL Excavators. Volvo’s high-lift loaders, such as the L20H, offer even more versatility in handling large logs and materials.
- Westtech Woodcrackers: Forestry operations get a boost with Westtech’s Woodcracker tools, including the G1650 and C550 models, tailored for excavators to efficiently cut and manage large logs.
- TMC Canella Mulchers: TMC Canella brings the THX 180 and TFR 250 mulchers to help players clear land and prepare forests for replanting or other uses.
- Tajfun Winches: For players dealing with steep terrain and difficult-to-access logs, Tajfun offers the EGV 65 AHKS SG winch, providing powerful and reliable support.
- Chainsaws and Accessories: Both Stihl and Husqvarna chainsaws are available, along with a new feature, multiple color options for spray paint, ideal for marking logs or designated areas. Models include the Stihl MS261 and the Husqvarna 550 XP.
- John Deere and Impex Harvesters: John Deere’s 848 L2 Forwarder and Impex’s Hannibal T50 Wood Harvester round out the lineup with powerful harvesting equipment.
With these tools, FS25 offers a complete logging experience, enabling players to jump straight into forestry work without waiting for expansions or mods.
Familiar Equipment, Now Part of the Base Game
Longtime fans of the Platinum Expansion from FS22 will recognize several brands and models, like Volvo and Koller, which were previously only available through DLC. In FS25, these pieces of equipment come standard, making it easier to get started with logging right from launch. The addition of winches in the base game is also exciting, as it means players won’t need additional downloads to perform complex logging operations.
Logging Versus Farming: A Balanced Experience
While Farming Simulator has traditionally focused on crop farming, the emphasis on logging in FS25 opens up more options for gameplay diversity. For players who prefer forestry, this update provides everything needed to turn the game into a comprehensive logging simulator. For those who lean more toward traditional farming, it’s worth noting that these additions offer new opportunities to diversify their operations.
Looking Forward to FS25’s Release
Farming Simulator 25 launches on November 12, 2024, for PC, Mac, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. With the addition of extensive logging equipment from the start, FS25 promises an exciting mix of farming and forestry that appeals to a wide range of players.
